A Guitar Game Online, No Download Needed
A guitar game online with no download: open ChordRunner in Chrome or Edge, allow the microphone once, and play real chords on your own guitar. Nothing to install, on a computer, tablet or phone.
No account, no download. The demo has limited content. Advanced features are in ChordRunner Premium.
- MIDI keyboard
- Digital or acoustic piano
- Guitar
- Computer, phone or tablet
Start in three steps
- Open the game in the browser.
- Allow the microphone and tune your guitar.

Why in the browser
No store, no install, no space taken: the same game opens on the family computer, a tablet or your phone, and your progress follows your account.

- Intermediate: adds sus2 and sus4.
- Advanced: adds 6th, 7th and 9th chords.

Common questions
Can I play a guitar game online without downloading anything?
Yes. ChordRunner runs in Chrome or Edge; you only allow the microphone so it can hear your guitar.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in the phone browser. Place the phone near the guitar so the microphone hears the chord clearly.
Which instruments work?
A USB MIDI keyboard, detected automatically, or a piano or guitar through the microphone. Everything runs in Chrome or Edge on a computer, tablet or phone.
How is this different from apps where you tap the screen?
Tapping trains your eyes and fingers on glass. Here you press real keys or fret real strings, and the game hears the actual notes, so what you practise is exactly what you will play on your instrument.
What do I need to play?
A guitar in tune, a browser and a microphone: the one in your laptop or phone is enough. Sit close to it and keep the room quiet.
Is it free?
There is a demo with limited content. Advanced features are in ChordRunner Premium.
