A chord game turns chord practice into play: a chord symbol appears, you play it on your instrument and the game reacts. In ChordRunner every right chord makes your runner jump. How the chord game works

Three things happen in under a second, and they repeat until chords become automatic.

A chord appears

A symbol such as Am, G7 or Ebmaj7 comes toward your runner on the track.

You play it

Any voicing counts: root position, inversion, open or doubled notes. If the right notes sound, the chord is right.

The runner jumps

Right chord, you clear the obstacle. Wrong or late, you lose a life. Feedback is instant, so you learn from every chord.

What is a chord game?

A chord game shows you a chord and asks you to play it, then reacts at once. In ChordRunner a chord symbol comes toward your runner and playing it on a piano, MIDI keyboard or guitar makes the runner jump, so practice feels like playing a game.

Is there a chord training game for beginners?

Yes. The first levels use only major, minor, augmented and diminished triads. Sus chords, 7ths, 9ths and 13ths come later, and a practice mode with no lives shows the chord tones while you learn.

Can I play the chord game online without installing anything?

Yes. It runs in Chrome or Edge on a computer, tablet or phone. Plug in a USB MIDI keyboard, detected automatically, or allow the microphone and play a piano or guitar.

Does the chord game work with guitar?

Yes. Strum the chord near the microphone and it is recognised. The game shows chord symbols, not fretboard diagrams, so you practise finding each shape yourself.
