Asus4 Chord on Piano (A Suspended 4th)

Asus4 and Dsus2
The notes of Asus4 also spell Dsus2: start from D and you get root, 2nd and 5th of D. Same keys, two names, and the lowest note picks the one you hear.
When to play Asus4
- The classic move is Asus4 → A: the 4th D falls one step to the third C# and the tension melts.
- You can use it in A major, E major and D major, wherever A itself fits.
A short Asus4 routine
- Say the notes out loud while you press them: A, D and E.
- Switch between A and Asus4 ten times without looking at your hand.
- Try Asus4 in 1st inversion, the position that sits closest to your last chord.
- Then test it in random order among other chords: recall under time pressure is what sticks.
Five minutes a day is enough to make Asus4 feel easy.
